Gazelle's journey begins with a group of serial founders, engineers, and academics passionate about using technology to solve ecological challenges. After witnessing the impacts of desertification and climate change in the Kalahari, our team wanted to incentivize long-term sustainability in a way that environmental benefits could be quantified, tracked, and verified for communities.

Gazelle was founded in 2022 and spun out of partnership with the Digital Landscapes Lab to commercialize decades of critical research. Since then, our team has protected over 300,000 acres of savannahs, enabled ranchers to track GHG mitigations, and attracted support through our novel technologies and conservation projects in southern Africa.
